Context
eibe installed a brand new playground at The Nature Discovery Centre, Thatcham near Reading in Sept 2019.
The £150,000 project from West Berkshire Council resulted from a competitive tender bid in 2018 which finally came to fruition in late summer 2019.
Work undertaken
Working alongside Countryside Manager, Paul Hendry, the eibe team designed a robinia-centric wooden play space that blends in beautifully with the natural surroundings.
The stand-out feature is the aesthetically-appealing Shadra Unit, surrounded by a host of other equipment, deliberately aimed at children of all ages. There are lots of climbing products, as well as a nest swing, play panels, musical chimes and balancing trails.
Upcoming
Stage 2 of the Thatcham Scheme will include an inclusive roundabout and a stand-up seesaw.
