Context

Wolverhampton city centre underwent a £55 million regeneration, part of which was the creation of a new market place.

With 20 purpose-built units and 48 covered stalls the market was expected to attract a large number of visitors. With this in mind, and the limited number of parking spaces available nearby, it was essential that vehicle access could be controlled to ensure visitor safety.

Products supplied

By the time it was opened to the public, AUTOPA had supplied and installed:

  • Automatic arm barriers
  • Automatic bollards
  • One-way flow plates
  • Cycle shelters
  • Cycle stands

These products encouraged pedestrians and cyclists to visit the market while protecting them at the time and preventing access by unauthorised vehicles.
