The RIBA has been celebrating outstanding work for over 180 years. RIBA awards and prizes are regarded internationally as a mark of excellence, recognising the best architecture, architects, research and students.
Architects Bond Bryan are delighted to have won a prestigious RIBA Yorkshire Award for their project Mercia School. Built on a former landfill site this new secondary school has been funded through the local authority and it closely follows the prescriptive design guidance from Department for Education DfE with a slight uplift on the minimum area allowance.
Furnitubes’ Zenith range was chosen for the external seating component of the project as it offered many different forms in a single coordinated range – traditional seats with backs, straight benches for placement against walls and curved benches for use around new feature tree planting. In addition, where low level gabions are used to deal with level changes Furnitubes’ Lapa benches were used to provide comfortable and cost effective seating solutions. Over 40 seating units were supplied in total.
We are extremely proud to have been apart of this fantastic award-winning scheme and want to congratulate all involved.
