Bainland Lodge Park is a rural holiday destination housing over 70 lodges and glamping tents. A brief was submitted to provide a safe and suitable product for the decked areas of each lodge surrounding the hot tubs.
Marley's Antislip Plus® decking was specified for the refurbishment and upgrade of the lodge decking areas to maintain the park’s natural aesthetic, whilst also providing a hard-wearing solution with safety in mind. The decking provided Bainland with both improved grip and low-slip potential. This was done in an attempt to minimise the risk of accidental slips and falls.
To make sure the project ran smoothly, Bainland worked closely with their preferred supplier, Jackson Buildbase, with whom they have enjoyed a strong partnership over the years. By delivering excellent logistics, Jackson Buildbase has supported the park’s growth in recent years while keeping disruption to a minimum. The installer of the park’s decking was no exception, with deliveries co-ordinated to suit the contractor’s schedule.
Marley was on hand to provide technical support from specification to installation.
“Our relationship with the park represents an ongoing project of chalet installations that encompasses work across the board, from plant to materials. Marley Antislip Plus decking is a product we have been using for a long time because of the incredible benefits it brings to a project, and we always recommend the product to our clients when drawing up plans for undertakings such as this.”
- Paul, Jackson Buildbase
“The whole park is outfitted with Antislip Plus decking and handrails. The timber decking is also used for the bridges and boardwalks around the three lakes of the park, designed for wild swimming. So far, over 7,000 linear meters of Marley Antislip decking has been installed at Bainland Lodge Park ensuring the park maintains its rustic feel and distinct aesthetic.”

Marley ensures that all its products stand the test of time and all decking is treated to achieve a 30-year service life. This treatment does not need to be reapplied after initial application.
Marley Antislip Plus® deck boards have been independently tested by the Health & Safety Laboratory in accordance with BS 7976 and significantly exceed the minimum slip requirements. The deck boards are preservative treated, and for the application at Bainland Lodge Park, treated to Use Class 3 to ensure longevity.
Whether it’s swimming in the lakes or socialising in the hot tubs, Bainland Lodge Park’s guests and management alike are enjoying the peace of mind that comes with using a high-quality decking solution.
