RB Extra Heavy is the heaviest-duty version of the RootBridge system from Green Grid. It is designed to support vehicular weights of up to 40 tonne, based on an 11 tonne axle loading. Typical applications for the RB Extra Heavy include access roads and entrances where existing trees need to be retained and protected, and where zero soil compaction is required.

RB Extra Heavy can be installed with different length groundscrews to accommodate various soil conditions. Surfaces can be finished with paving, asphalt or 30x30mm mesh grids.

Root bridge system

RootBridge from Green Grid is designed to prevent soil compaction and root damage to existing trees within the root protection zone. It consists of a steel framework that provides a stable sub-construction that bridges the root zone and allows heavy loads to be supported across pedestrian and vehicular areas. The steel framework houses mesh grids that ensure natural water drainage, and the finished installation can also be overlaid with asphalt or paving.

Other key benefits of RootBridge include its high load-bearing capactiy and its low structure height, which enable minimum impact during construction.
