The Zig Zag Buidling replaces a 1950s office block on Victoria Street in Westminster. Situated between a cathedral and a town hall, the development comprises offices, housing, restaurants and bars.
Concern for the well-being of inhabitants is evidenced by design of the building which gives precise control over the lighiting, heating and cooling. Full height windows flood each floor with daylight to keep people energised and alert. This attention to well-being is extended to the external spaces, as evidenced in the the care taken in the design of the landscape by Vogt.
The project won the Best Office Building award at The World Architecture Festiva in November 2016.
