Terrafina Excel decking
The Volkswagen Audi group brand is synonymous with innovation so when they decide to build a £24m office development to further enhance their presence in Milton Keynes, it was always going to be very contemporary.
Housing 360 staff it had to be practical but also represent the core values of the institution with regards to aesthetics, design, sustainability and also environmentally friendly in its application.
The external regions of the development have been decked with Terrafina Excel decking to provide a clean, smooth and low-maintenance surface which is surrounded by glass balustrades and adorned with planters.
Whilst the product has a host of advantages it is also backed up by an unrivalled technical support system.
Roger Antrobus, Project Manager of main contractor, VINCI, explains: “ Kinley Systems visited site and attended design meetings with our own team and PHP Architects. They also met up with the sub-contract installers, PDS Carpentry, to aid with installation guidance and material take-off. The assistance didn’t end there as Kinley Systems Business development manager, Richard McMullan also visited site during installation to advise on fitting and carry out quality control checks.”
The clean lines of the Terrafina decking complement the overall building facade and, as with the VAG brand, great design and good looks can still be achieved without compromising on budget.
The building designers, PHP Architects, were given a brief that pays homage to the sleek profile of their car range. As with all modern commercial buildings, sectors have been devoted to social space and break-out areas.
