The city of Lincoln is a destination rich in diversity with its rich heritage, growing university and wide retail offer making it an ideal visitor destination.
The Lincoln Business Improvement Group was challenged to promote the whole city offer, ensuring visitior penetration throughout the city streets and beyond the high street, promoting pedestrian movement, transport links, and the full breadth of what the city has offer.
fwdesign developed a strategic pedestrian wayfinding plan, implemented with a bespoke city map as a hand-held printed resource and on-street signage, delivered via customised frank signage and integrated on-street digital broadcast screens in high pedestrian dwell areas. The digital broadcast screens are controlled by the Business Improvement Group and promote culteral, heritage, music and retail events throughout the city.
Stakeholder consultation, strategic wayfinding, cartography, information graphic design, project management, the frank signage system and digital screens were all delivered by fwdesign.
