We met Mr Lynham, the headteacher at Bailey's Court Primary School at the Academies Show at the NEC late last year, where he was drawn to Setter Shelters by our brightly coloured glulam exhibition stand, and the need to get a very quick provisional quote for a very large canopy, to bring to his governors meeting later that day!
We were then invited to meet with Mr. Lynham and his senior staff as they liked our style and designs, and the provisional quote we had provided them was competitive. We surveyed the area and discussed the feasibility of the constructing the canopy, which they wanted to provide lots of all-weather access to the outdoors for their entire school.
After surveying the area and taking the necessary measurements, we returned to the office to begin the design of the canopy and the planning of the project. During our meeting with Bailey's Court's senior staff, we discussed the idea of matching the pitch of their existing roof with the canopy, to create a sympathetic design. They also loved the idea of involving thei r school colours, and so we included this into our designs.
The school needed planning permission for a structure of this size , and Setter Shelters were happy to act as planning agents to oversee their application. As soon as it was awarded we proceeded with the project.
Bailey's Court Primary School were very keen on having the installation completed during the week of half-term. Our team of 6 installers worked tirelessly over the bank holiday weekend to ensure that the canopy was fully installed in 6 days! Now Bailey's Court can benefit from 200m2 of covered space that they can utilise in any way they see fit.
