Challenge
Madeira Terrace, which runs along Brighton's seafront, required perimeter fencing that would protect the arches and cast iron features that date back to 1880’s which, in recent years, have been subject to decay.
A perimeter solution needed to offer a high level of protection and, at the same time, match the world-famous Victorian architecture.
Solution
Rigid mesh fencing manufacturer and supplier, CLD Fencing Systems, was commissioned to design, manufacture and deliver security fencing for installation at Madeira Terrace.
Built in the UK, the fencing systems have been specially marine grade powder coated to match the original 'Brighton Blue' colour to fit in with the area. At the same time, the fencing offers an enhanced level of security to protect the Victorian-designed seafront.
During the design stage, CLD Fencing Systems proposed their Securus fencing panels at a height of 3 metres. Panels would be colour-matched with marine polyester powder coating to the original light blue colour of the finished cast iron features.
in order to colour match a design from the 19th Century CLD had to develop a special mix of powder coating that involved products from two paint manufacturers.
The designed fence-line was completed with a series of CLD Fencing Systems' Lockmaster swing gates, with Securus infill. These were also galvanised and marine polyester powder coated in the special paint mix to provide a dedicated protection against the sea elements.
Rick Woodcock; Senior Sales Executive at CLD Fencing Systems said “It’s fantastic to be able to provide a security solution that fits in with such an iconic area of the United Kingdom.” He continued “At CLD Fencing Systems, being bespoke is second nature to us and has helped to build our reputation around the globe.”
