Lost Art was commissioned to design, produce and install a bandstand to replace a missing original piece at Beaumont Park in Huddersfield.
The bandstand featured an unusual rectangular shape rather than the more traditional circular design, and contained elements of eastern influence in the embellishments and pagoda-style appearance.
Lost Art conducted background research into the appearance of the original and into bandstand design in general.
Proposals were produced for the client, for a bandstand that would fit the existing plinth. A strict budget had to be adhered to and while this meant that the original structure could not be fully replicated, the client was keen that the new design should reflect the old version as closely as possible.
The client was delighted with the proposals. After preparatory work, such as the production of patterns for the cast iron elements, followed by their production at our partner foundry, Lost Art constructed the bandstand to the agreed design.
