Brentwood Council had refurbished a skate park in King George V Park, Brentwood. The facility had been fenced with traditional timber panels but, with the park being heavily used, the panels were not lasting long. Skateboards crashing into the timber panels, along with climbing and graffiti, meant that the panels needed to be replaced within months.
It was decided to trial GovaWall® on one side of the park.
As existing concrete posts were still new and in good condition, GovaWall® panels were installed directly without the need for posts. GovaWall® fits into standard 50mm channels in concrete posts.
After one year of use the panels had withstood tough use and GovaWall® was then installed around the other sides of the skatepark.
