CDTS has invested in a wide range of conventional seeding equipment to enable successful completion of seeding contracts on the broad range of soil types found within the UK. Sites may range from high-quality sports pitches to large-scale land reclamation schemes.
Direct tree seeding involves the sowing of tree and shrub seed directly on to the site, producing a plant community with a natural appearance which adapts and hardens to its immediate environment. Herbaceous and shrub species are sown with trees providing protective nurse cover and improving biodiversity.
Selected seed mixes are sown either conventionally (drilling, machine or hand broadcast) or by hydroseeding (restricts species to be sown but allows seeding in poor access areas).
