Context

St Paul's Place is a prestige apartment development located in the Jewellery Quarter of Birmingham.

With regards environment, St Paul’s Place brings something new to the area. The Thomas Walker Building, as it is known, is one of the most historic and recognised in the city. It is regarded as a statement building, and covers almost an entire block facing the square.

A feature of the development is an internal landscaped courtyard which the apartments look out onto.

The landscape designers' concept for this courtyard was to form flowing paths intersected by curved walls, linked together with a series of curved benches.

Products supplied

Having contacted Benchmark with their needs, the Centerline range was chosen, as the seats could be produced to follow the exact radii of the sweeping curves of walls and paving layouts required.

316 marine grade stainless steel was used throughout, complementing the railings and staircases of this development.

Outcome

The end result is a tranquil communal courtyard in which the residents can sit and relax, away from the bustle of the city for years to come.
