Challenge
Based in Shropshire, the centre has extensive grounds around it. It was proving difficult and costly to maintain the grounds, especially around the established fruit trees which are so easily damaged by machinery.
Solution
In July 2014, this was overcome by installing 'Spats' around the trees. This inexpensive but highly effective project involved fitting a 'spat / groundcover' and securing with the 160mm Square Peg (Made by Splice Cast Ltd).
Outcome
This has worked well and ensures that the trees look neat all year round.
