Harrow Council wanted to meet the needs of a modern economy by making Harrow special and distinctive, and at the same time achieving a harmonious layout for both buses and pedestrians in the area.
The Council wished to reintroduce two-way bus movements into the main shopping area and create an attractive pedestrian street scene incorporating seating and public art features.
Over 5,000m2 of Aggregate Industries' durable and attractive Mid Grey Granite was specified to regenerate the focal shopping area of Harrow town centre, along with setts, kerbs and tactile units. The compnay also supplied 1,900m2 of grey StoneMaster, a stone simulate product designed to replicate natural granite, incorporating a fine natural aggregate face mix.
Being able to offer both a natural stone and a concrete landscape solution to Harrow fulfilled project requirements and ensures the area is an enjoyable and useable space for both foot and vehicular traffic.
“Aggregate Industries, have played an integral part in the development and strategy of Harrow town centre. They have always been amenable providing a diverse knowledge of materials and products, providing solutions and bringing expertise from other areas as required.”
