BAR Extreme's formulation has now been improved for the autumn with the addition of Sirtaky in place of Fandango to the mixture (45% Bargold, 40% Sirtaky, 15% Barsignum).

As their respective Turfgrass Seed 2013 (Table L1) scores suggest, this reformulation offers enhanced shoot density and red thread resistance in particular, with Sirtaky scoring 7.9 and 7.0 respectively for these traits.

The new improved BAR Extreme has an outstanding mean mixture score of 7.43.

The mainstay of BAR Extreme for many years has been the appropriately named Bargold, which has been setting the standard for dwarf ryes for well over a decade.

Bargold has excellent fineness of leaf and tolerance to close mowing (ranked #1 on close mowing trials, Table G4 in the STRI/BSPB Turfgrass Seed 2013), and is also one of our best cultivars for leaf spot tolerance.

Completing BAR Extreme is the relative newcomer Barsignum, a fantastic cultivar that ranks #2 on Table L1 in Turfgrass Seed 2013.

Barsignum's visual merit score of 8.5 is the joint highest (with Barorlando) for any grass across all species in the UK.
