Challenge

As the ongoing contractual supplier to London Bus Services Limited for all non-advertising bus shelters and bus stops throughout London, Trueform designed, manufactured and installed a complete new infrastructure package for Stratford Bus Station.

This included 13 bespoke passenger waiting shelters, improved seating, passenger information systems and station signage identifier totems.

Solution

Trueform’s in-house designers worked in close collaboration with TfL to deliver the high specification architectural design shelters.

The company used specially selected architectural grade self finished materials, including stainless steels, specialist glazing and natural granite G23 to provide a high-quality aesthetic, whist providing long-term robustness, operational characteristics and maintainability.

Creative design in the use of LED lighting on the shelter structures was employed to provide the require safety and ambience within the station environment.

Outcome

Jonathan Morley, Technical & Development Director, Trueform said “We are delighted with what has been achieved at Stratford Bus Station. The recent work has totally revitalised this busy transport hub, which sees thousands of passengers pass through every single day. We are proud to be a part of such a prestigious project with Transport for London.”
