The five-star St Pancras Renaissance Hotel has been restored to its former Gothic glory, following the £800 million restoration of the St Pancras International Eurostar station.
Needing to protect the high-profile site, the hotel approached Furnitubes with a brief to match the ornate styling of existing bollards while concealing PAS 68-rated shallow-mount security cores.
The existing Gothic-style bollards had intricate floral detailing and a decorative domed cap, which were replicated by Furnitubes so that they could be fixed onto PAS 68 bollards.
The decorative aluminium castings complement the Gothic architecture of the hotel, whilst disguising the security measures put in place to protect against terrorist attacks.
The project was an example of Furnitubes using its SecurePlus+ range of products, which have been developed to provide aesthetic solutions for sensitive locations, offering PAS 68-rated protection whilst integrating with existing features in the public realm.
