Lansdowne Primary Academy in Tilbury, Essex needed a covered play area for its nursery children, to provide shelter from the elements.
Owing to the nature of the site, a bespoke solution was required, which could be tailor-made to its particular dimensions and levels.
An experienced engineer carried out a free site survey to determine the site-specific requirements. Then, a quotation was produced for a bespoke ‘Harlequin’ playground canopy, which reflected the client’s needs as closely as possible. That was followed by a further on-site consultation, and a more detailed survey.
The customer was kept up-to-date throughout the design process, and was provided with detailed product drawings, for which their approval was sought.
The canopy was then manufactured at Autopa's premises in Rugby. Installation started on the agreed date, and was completed within three days.
In this instance, the installation date was scheduled weeks in advance to satisfy the school’s requirements to have the works completed during school holidays.
The final product demonstrated Autopa’s capability to produce an elegant bespoke solution, which would strike a balance between structural and aesthetic integrity.
